Dr. Elisabeth Reichert, Dipl.Soz.Arb.; MSSW, Ph.D. received her German Social Work Degree (equivalent to MSW) in 1983 from the Fachhochschule fuer Sozialwesen in Mannheim, Germany. She received a Fulbright Scholarship to study social work in the US. She received her MSSW in 1985 and her Ph.D. in Health Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. During her doctoral studies Dr. Reichert worked at the University's Women's Center. From 1989-1994 she was employed by the Project Against Sexual Abuse of Appalachian children as a clinical social worker. Dr. Reichert also has a valid licensure as a clinical social worker in Tennessee (LCSW). Dr. Reichert has been with the Southern Illinois University of Carbondale - School of Social Work since 1994. In addition to her regular teaching responsibilities, she has planned coordinated and taught four study abroad courses in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. She has been
active in many university committees: Dr. Reichert is a board member and editor of Professional Development: The International Journal of Continuing Social Work Education. She is also a board member and editor of Reflections: Journal of Professional Helping. In addition, Dr. Reichert has been a frequent presenter on issues of international child welfare, child sexual abuse and adult survivors of sexual abuse. In the Undergraduate
